BOINC Combined Statistics

On March 13, 2009 the underlying database used for all the BOINC data on this site is going to change. The system has gone through a complete overhaul. The primary motivator was the time to complete the update was getting longer and longer.

In the short term (just a few days hopefully) you may see data not updating. The data will continue to be updated in the new tables, just the site may not show it. The priority order list of things that need to be done is:

• Placing source code into BOINC SVN repository Partially Completed
  
• Remove old database tables (pending completion)

I will update this posting as things are completed.

Sorry for the delay, I found a few bugs and holes in the design that I had to recode for to make things work well on the site. It's going to be easier for me to switch all pages over at once than do it bit by bit.

The new DB should be live for all to see. Let me know if you find any problems.

A bit on what has changed:

• Individual project data is updated multiple times a day
  
• Amount of time to compute stats has been reduced (yeah!)
  
• A few new rankings are available
  
• History retention of data has been extended from 1 year to 10 (graphs to show up soon)
  
• World map on the home page has its data updated daily (instead of when I remember to do it)
