You just have to tune up your FSB (BIOS).Be sure your DIMMs are able to take up some more MHz. Voltages for CPU und DIMMs need some extras. So NOT make huge steps, setting FSB to higher rates. 5 MHz is enough. Use Prime95, 3DMark or other benches for testing or just use a stress-testing app of your choice (BurnIn for reason).
Overclocking my baby up to 3,9 GHz made the average credit going down. At 3GHz stock I'm reaching an average of 1700 to 1800 credits. (Phenom II 940, 3GHZ @ stock, 4GB DDR2-800 @ stock). Overclocked highest rate was 1400. Hope you've more success pushing you credits!
